Covid 19 Update/ Wood Elf Shipping Info

Hi Everyone!
We hope everybody is staying safe during these times. We are on lockdown and have had a cough in our house hold for 2.5 weeks now. Sarah my partner works as a nurse for the NHS and started coughing a few weeks ago. We are in isolation but I am currently Asymptomatic and taking care of childcare duties. It could be simply a viral cough and unrelated , either way we are on complete lockdown to play it safe.
In regards to the wood elves. I have been trying to lock down a more educated response/ plan. This may have been slightly naive as we are adapting to circumstance and the information provided by the government.
At this stage, the best way to describe what is happening with the kickstarter, would be that we are on pause. Production is temporarily delayed on completion and we are waiting on several pieces of information regarding release of lockdown to plan/ finish production.
We will never sacrifice quality which is why we are focused on waiting to operate our standard pipeline. We are doing what we can in preparation to charge through the opening gates back into production and to get your products to you.
As we receive news we will update you. Again, I would like to reiterate that fundamentally it will be a temporary pause, which will translate into a small delay. As more information is provided, we can provide more information/ clarity on the shipping time.
Given the circumstance and the limitations of my home office. I have decided to keep the pledge manager open until I can handle the images/renders.
When we close the pledge manager we can handle peoples pledges manually, so I wouldn’t worry about a close date. Although completion is preferred if possible.

Minis Final Cast Teaser

Hi Everyone!
This post was meant to come sooner so my apologies for the delay. We will be including the promised renders or cast photos soon. We are juggling a few jobs at the moment and will be squeezing in a proper photo shoot on the minis when our new lightbox arrives! We are very excited to allocate some time to cutting sprues, gluing and photography.
For now here is a teaser of some of the models (iphone photos) and some more information about shipping and a few peoples concerns about Covid-19 (Coronavirus)
Covid-19
Currently we only have a small number of cases confirmed in the UK. Production is handled in the UK and is at this point unaffected by the Virus. Should the situation escalate we will keep you in the loop.
For areas that are more heavily affected by the Virus... If you are concerned about your countries shipping service during this time, we are happy to put a hold on your order temporarily until things settle down. If you wish to proceed with this option please email [email protected].
Shipping Dates
We are currently aiming to start shipping late April. We have had a few hurdles over the past few months. It has been mostly reprints. This is all for the purpose of quality and scale. We have printed some bigger and reprinted some prints to make the detail/contrast clearer. In some cases, for example a set of 3. If we reprint one, it delays the set of miniatures until we have that item to put on the sprue. We guarantee that the product will be better due to these decisions but we have eaten into some of the time. It is getting tighter but we are doing everything we can to hit our deadlines.
We do apologise for the radio silence. We have prioritised the tweaks to the models in getting them fixed and back to the printer as fast as possible. An update can always be squeezed in and there is no justified excuse, but we do tend to find ourself in a bit of a bubble when it comes to jumping these small hurdles.

In the coming month, we will lock down the rest of the orders and send out a confirmation of shipping information email. If you have changed your address it is very important and your responsibility to ensure it is updated or contact us regarding the change. We can help to amend your address or you can wait for your update shipping info email.

January Update!

Hi Everyone!
Our apologies for the slow update. January has ran away with us a little in the admin sense. We had a lot of illness in December. I was particularly overly dramatic and useless with a case of man flu. So we have been finding our feet on catch up with some of our admin duties this month.
In regards to progress: We are roughly where we want to be. We have eaten into our buffer. The buffer is an amount of time we allow for any unforeseen issues. This for us, was some of the sizes of the initial models. As an example, we have reprinted a lot of the smaller items including the wolf and the two forest basing kits larger. We also made some amendments to improve them with sharper details. This nudged a few things in the queue later than initially scheduled, but that is what the buffer period is for.
There is still a reasonable amount of you who have not completed the process via backerkit where you pay shipping and provide your information. For this reason, we have left it open to allow for those to complete. It is a lot easier on our end to let the system do the work rather than to do the orders manually :). I know a couple of people are waiting on seeing something. Not a problem... but if you could be so kind as to send us an email. We'll handle it as a personalised request, as opposed to an update. We will leave it open another week and then assess where we are with backers left to complete :)

October Update!

Hi Everyone!
Important things first: We are currently a little ahead of schedule, not much but a little. We had some tweaks to do to proportions, after seeing the test prints. But this was very simple and only took a few days.
Here is a quick sneak peak of some of the prints! Some have been sent back to the printers to print them a little larger.
The test print of the elf image as shown below is for scale and proportions only and did not have the cuts and final clarity pass. The final clarity pass is what turns a nice render into a great mini. We have made a few tweaks and sent almost all of the elves to print. But we will receive the lizard mount and owl mount first! We will also do some back shot renders as requested for the next update.
Just simple shots in the office using an iPhone, But the clarity looks fantastic in real life!!!

Hi Everyone!
We have now assisted most of you in passing through the checkout process! We have also been very busy soldiering along with the improvements. At this stage, we are doing very well and are slightly ahead of schedule. In the coming weeks we will have the masters printed for approximately half of the range!
We have ticked off a lot of the non-elf miniatures and extras. Prints to show shortly when they arrive. We have also almost finished the big models. It is usually the big models that can slow things down. So we have planned to tick this box off early.
There is a printed elf that will arrive soon for a simple scale check. Then we have a folder of finished elves that may or may not need some mild tweaks to scale and proportions. If not they are ready to print! Once we have the prints they will jump to the final phase of production......casting!
Here are some progress images. I'll set some more off to render over the coming weeks!
With this one. They key improvements were making the details well defined, clean and clear!
With the animals, most of the refinements are with the fur. As they will be quite small, we have added a slightly more stylised approach to the fur which will be very subtle at the size they are.
The caterpillar has had a detailing pass!
The wolf has had some fur refinements
The basing kits have also been refined! The rats are now chomping on berries!
